Turning older not quite the traumatic event I'd thought it would be

I had a lovely birthday yesterday, despite the whole aging thing. Flowers from the girlfriend--purple! because I love Howie too much for my own good; out to ice cream with friends; a book I've been wanting to read--White Teeth by Zadie Smith; and a phone call from home. And now I have 'N Sync to look forward to tomorrow night!

Thank you. I'm sure no one but I would find this especially noteworthy, but do you realize that you, northernveil (who also wished me a happy birthday), and I all have birthdays on the 16th?
