This year, there were more than the usual number of posts made to the Yuletide communities about how you shouldn't feel absolutely compelled to write any details beyond the chosen fandom and characters, so I kind of let myself go wild with my requests. All of which is to say, if I requested something that you don't feel able to write, DON'T PANIC. Pretty much anything featuring the characters I requested would make me ecstatic, and I think it's more important for you to write a story that you're happy with and feel proud of than it is for you to write a story that exactly matches my request.
Generally speaking, things that I don't like to read include breathplay, character-bashing, death, abuse, betrayal, bad grammar and/or spelling, PWPs, non-con, coercion, and violence.
Things that I like include happy (or at least hopeful) endings, friendship, hugs (not just between the romantically involved characters), kissing, first-time fic, established relationship fic (especially if there's some sort of shift in the dynamics of the relationship), character-driven gen, and mild angst with an eventual happy ending.
I've already said a bit about the fandoms I chose in my requests, but in case you wanted additional information or clarification:
Akihabara@deep My favorite thing about this series is how much the characters love and support each other, despite their social ineptness. Or, to put that a slightly different way, I love them all in large part for their flaws, and especially for the fact that their flaws are what bring them together, when previously they had been exactly what kept them from really connecting with other people. First-time fic would be especially wonderful, since I'm rather fond of uncertain and/or awkward first relationship fumbling--which Box and Page would excel at, I'm sure--but an established relationship or gen friendship story would also be lovely.
Dong Bang Shin Ki Like I said in my request, I know that asking for Se7en/Jaejoong fic is way beyond what I can reasonably expect. If you can write it, then that would be great, but I won't be the least bit disappointed if I get a story featuring Jaejoong, Yunho, and Changmin, instead. They're my favorite threesome in DBSK and I've only found a couple of stories slashing the three of them. By the same token, I love gen DBSK stories--especially ones that focus on the band being domestic and happy together and/or being supportive of each other--and am always happy for more of that, if you don't feel that you can write a slash story for these three.
My personal canon for Yunho/Jaejoong/Changmin was initially inspired by this story, but if you envision them in a different sort of dynamic, I'm very open to seeing it. In addition to a fondness for friendships within the band, some of the things that I love in this fandom include Jaejoong's peculiar blend of self-consciousness and vanity, the way the band draws comfort from and reaffirms their connections through physical touch, Changmin's blend of respect and assertiveness (verging on cockiness) towards his bandmates, and Jaejoong cooking. I have a slight preference for first-time fic for Se7en/Jaejoong, just because I've never seen it before, but don't feel at all constrained by that if you have a great story idea for an established relationship. Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, if you do go the Se7en/Jaejoong route you shouldn't feel required to include Yunho and Changmin in your story, if you don't want.
Nobuta wo Produce Twice, because I love too many things about this series, and that makes me indecisive.
Shuuji/Akira As I said above, don't take my request as binding if you find it personally uninspiring. I haven't seen many stories that directly address Japanese homophobia in this fandom and thought that it would be a neat premise, but if you don't care for it, please feel free to write something else. I'd prefer a story set post-series, but, really, I'm very easy when it comes to these characters. Slash and gen are both quite welcome. (The one thing I ask is that you not pair up Shuuji and Mariko post-series, even on a temporary basis; I prefer the two of them as just friends.)
Nobuta/Mariko Again, I've never seen a first-time story for these two, so if you have a story idea including that element, I'd be very excited to see it. That said, I just love this pairing in general, so anything you wrote for it would be more than welcome. I especially like the idea that Nobuta and Mariko both have things to teach each other, so if you wanted to explore that a bit, that would be great. And I think Shittaka's adorable and that Nobuta's dislike of him is based more on circumstance and misunderstanding than anything else, which is why I tossed him in there. If you don't see any way to get them to be friends, that's absolutely fine.
