I'm finally caught up in my Prince of Tennis reading (Jesus, that series is long), and I am so very much in love with it. Though now I'm wondering about some of the characterizations that I've seen in fanfic, particularly Fuji's and Shinji's. Fuji didn't seem half as evil as people write him, and Shinji was pretty taciturn when he wasn't muttering to himself; whenever he talked to other people, he sounded perfectly normal. Does the anime exaggerate those traits in the two of them, or is that just fanon?
Also, while I'm quite fond of most of the popular pairings, where are all the people writing Tezuka/Kaidoh and Momoshiro/Kamio and Tachibana/every-single-member-of-Fudomine? I can't be the only person who wants to see those, right? Oh, and Tezuka/Oishi/Fuji/Eiji would be incredible, too.
And a question about Japanese high schools for a story I'm writing: do teachers ever make students rewrite bad essays, or do they just give them grades that reflect the quality of their work?

Yeah, that's the impression I got after reading a bunch of fanfic and noticing that the good authors didn't use those particular tropes that much. :-)
