Sirius/Harry and Remus/Harry recommendation searches

The inspiration for doing this is drawn shamelessly from musesfool's SB/RL Must-Read List. In my (partial) defense, I had been compiling lists of fics for these pairings earlier ...just very slowly and lazily.

Since: 1) I can't make pretty, shiny polls, and 2) the pairings in question aren't so popular as to warrant a system of categorization--though hopefully that will change as more people turn onto the lovely subtext in PoA--I'm asking that people submit their recommendations as comments to this post, and I'll tidy it up and make a second post listing all of the recs afterwards. Links to your favorite Sirius/Harry, Remus/Harry, and Sirius/Remus/Harry stories are all very much desired and appreciated.

Eh, my favorite ship's Sirius/Remus/Harry/Draco and, unsurprisingly, I've never seen a single story for it. And that's only four measley characters! (I think I've been spoiled by popslash GSF.)

That's like Pansy/Percy (only two!). I only know of four stories in fandom--one doesn't really go into what they'd see in each other at all, and three were written because I was going on and on about the ship. :D What's GSF?

GSF=group slut fic: all of the members of a band slashed together. It's a fairly popular pairing...er, grouping...all things considered, and some quite good stories have been written for it.

What would Pansy and Percy see in each other, if I might ask?

I like that idea. :D They really should have more group sex in HP.

On Pansy/Percy, well. They're so very similar, really--ambitious and bitchy and really, really into that authority thing (they like Fudge and Umbridge!). Pansy's a little bit less self-controlled, but she is a 15-year-old girl, and seen from the POV of an enemy, someone from a rival house, whereas Percy's seen from a younger character's POV, and that POV character isn't (initially) hostile. Just sees him as having a bit of a stick up his ass (which I won't deny :D). I think they'd both really be into power games in a relationship, but they could be either top or bottom. They've both been prefect, both understand not being noticed despite their achievments (see: Draco for Pansy; everyone in Gryffindor & his family, except his mother, for Percy). I think they'd fight a lot, but if they could manage to get past being insulted, they'd see that they really do understand and could respect one another. And it seems to me that sometimes that's really all they're looking for (Percy's blow-up with his family over their assumption that he must be getting his job for dodgy reasons, undermining his sense of achievment--and not really understanding why he wants to achieve success there in the first place; Pansy is very devoted to the people who are in her house, who, I assume, understand her motivations)--aside from making money and getting to the top. :D

...and I don't think that explained it very well, and I used pretty poor examples at points, but dude, I think that's long enough. Just skim for words like 'ambition', 'understanding', and 'power'. ;)

That makes quite a bit of sense, actually. I think I'm guilty of seeing Pansy solely through Harry's perspective; I'll have to try rereading the books while trying to distance myself from his viewpoint a bit more.

And I have seen one Harry Potter group sex story--a reunion/orgy among the members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team--only now I can't remember its title or who wrote it.

I'm very glad to hear that you're enjoying the links. For me, this is only the tip of the iceburg when it comes to the stories I want to read (think: any and all combinations of Sirius, Remus, Bill, Charlie, Fred, George, Harry, and Draco; a hell of a lot of pairings, yet very few total stories--except in Harry/Draco, of course, which is the one pairing in the group that I could give a miss), but I thought it an opportune time to collate Sirius/Harry and Remus/Harry recs, given how newly open people seem to be to the pairings after watching PoA.

*g* I too am a lover of multiple 'ships. Bill/Remus especially has been calling me lately, as well as George/Fred/pretty much anybody. But you're right--there are some really popular ships that have a lot of fics (and thus a higher incidence of good fics), and then there are only a couple of other pairing fics. You're very welcome. And, considering that I've read maybe ten Lucius/Harry stories in my life and enjoyed...three: no, I don't think so. It's the pairing in which I have the most inexplicable disinterest. Though if you were to compile a Lucius/Harry recs list, I'd promise to give the pairing another shot and see if the recced stories couldn't get me to change my mind.

Well, you do an awesome job with the thematic listings, which seem to me as though they would be quite a bit more difficult, given how much easier it is to search for (or remember) stories by pairing than by whether they contain various obscure plot points. No pressure, of course; it's entirely your decision. Just letting you know that I think you'd be more than competent to the task.

I'm still waiting for people to see the light when it comes to James/Sirius, Sirius/Fred/George, and Remus/Draco (though I suppose I shouldn't kvetch too much about that last one, given that I've not yet completed a story for the pairing myself). And I have a sad suspicion that my deep and abiding desire for McGonagall/Draco stories will never be fulfilled. Thanks for the links.

Have you reads the stories by Dr Worm? They're intellgent, full of depth and complexity and emotion, in-character and just plain amazing (and grammatically correct!). Check out her stuff on fanfiction.net if you don't believe me . . . it's sweet, but more than just cuddly.
