Finally arrived

Since moving to Madison I've found a job, registered to vote, and traded in my PA driver's license for a Wisconsin one (a painful exchange, since my first license was shockingly attractive and in the current one I bear a slight resemblance to Jabba the Hutt).

And, today, I read my hundredth book in Wisconsin. I suppose this really is home now.

So lonely am I for local contact that you posting about Wisconsin makes my day. *laughs* I have NO local livejournal friends other than shaded_angel_, who is not a SDB fan in any incarnation past or present, so someday I may call upon you to meet me at a concert or something. Don't be shocked, just back away slowly and make up an excuse about having to wash your hair.

Well, especially considering that I haven't yet made any friends here (I'm v.v. bad at the whole socializing thing), I have to say I'm probably at least as lonely for you. So, assuming I'll one day be able to afford going anywhere, I won't be in any hurry to make my excuses.

I have the same socializing issue as you do. I was the one who hung out in her room with incense and Anne Rice books and posters of Brandon Lee. (I'm slightly less scary now. I hang out with Nsync posters and, uh, porn, and wow, TMI.)

Anyhow, all kidding aside, if there's a show you want to see somewhere between here and Madison, I'm there. Anything you have in mind? I don't keep abreast the way I should.

Surprisingly, I find that I really like this city. Which is far more than I was expecting when I first moved here.

I don't know about well--I keep getting rejected when I apply for jobs that might allow me to earn a reasonable amount of money (as opposed to my current job at the grocery store, which is just enough to live on)--but I'm surviving.
