1. We're all in this (popslash) for one reason or another, but a significant part of the, er, indoctrination comes from when we get a clue that the guys are just really talented. What was the one (popstar-related) thing that cemented you in this fandom?
"I Drive Myself Crazy." After I'd been reading 'N Sync slash for about a month, I decided that it might be a good idea to check out their music, so I borrowed the first album from my best friend, who'd gone through a boyband phase a couple years back. The songs were fun and catchy, but not really anything to get excited about...and then I heard IDMC and fell in love.
2. The Big Scary Lawyers come crashing down on fanfiction, and before authors' websites close permanently, you have time to print (i.e. to save for yourself) five stories. Which five, and why?
Kissable Fanatic, Unhinged Minim Artists by Basingstoke. This story represents for me the pinnacle of what fanfiction can accomplish. The level of detail is astonishing, Toad gets more character development in a few pages than most of the X-Men have gotten in several years of Marvel comics, and Anagram is the absolute best OMC in any slash story, ever.
A Spirit of Brotherhood by torch. The portrayals of Remus, Sirius, and Snape and of their interrelationships takes my breath away each time I reread this. It's just unbelievably beautiful.
Break by Jane St Clair. I love stories where the insanity of life is treated matter-of-factly and with a shade of humor, and this one is my favorite.
The Sacred and the Profane by Afrai. I think this Good Omens AU is the most terrifyingly beautiful (and vice versa) slash story I've ever read.
The Hand We Were Dealt by Jane Mortimer. This was the story that first brought me into X-Files slash, despite my initial reluctance. The characterizations of Mulder and Krycek are unparalleled--morally and emotionally complex, with the perfect degree of quirkiness--and the plot's a near-perfect blend of action, humor, and slightly fucked-up romance.
3. If you had to spend the rest of your life exactly where you are right this second, what would the disadvantages be?
Well, I'm living at home right now, so the major disadvantage would be my going mad after years in the same house as my mother. Also, the town I grew up in is going through some--in my opinion--very unfortunate changes. What used to be farmland is now developments and golf courses, the previously excellent public schools are becoming overcrowded, and the area in general has lost much of its character...all of the drawbacks of urbanization and few of the benefits.
4. Forever and ever and ever until the end of time you're allowed exactly two CDs. One pop, one "other". Which two, and why?
Now or Never: I only really dislike one song on the album (yes, it's a petty reason. but this is the hardest question on here, and I've already spent way too long trying to come up with a response to it); and Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet: the "Dance of the Knights" is my all-time favorite piece of music.
5. Would you rather go on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or the Late Show with David Letterman? Who would be the other guest, and who would be the musical guest?
I've never watched either of them, so this is a supremely uninformed choice, but: the Late Show with David Letterman. (I think my best friend watches it on occasion; I'll just follow her preferences.) The other guest would be Terri Windling, and the musical guest would be Dar Williams.
The rules and regs:
1 -- Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

Anyway, here are the questions:
1) If you had to bodyswitch with one of your family members à la Freaky Friday, only permanently, whom would you switch with and why?
2) To which three books or movies do you most want sequels?
3) Would you rather spend two years in Antarctica or on Mars and why? Assume there's no travel time and that the only people at either location are a small team of dedicated scientists.
4) Which book or movie villain would you be most willing to marry? (The marriage can take place in Canada, if you like.)
5) An anonymous benefactor has set up a full scholarship for you at the college of your choice for a period of time sufficient to earn a second bachelor's degree. In which subject would you major and why?

1) With which historical and mythological figures (one each) do you most identify and why?
2) What would be your ideal job, post-graduation?
3) J.K. Rowling will incorporate three plot points of your choosing into the remaining Harry Potter books. What do you make happen?
4) What food would you be willing to eat at every meal for the rest of your life? (Note: you can eat anything else you want in addition to this one food, but you have to be willing to eat at least three servings of your chosen food per day.)
5) Desert island reading: what one fiction and five non-fiction books would you take?
