I've been trying to avoid this realization for a while, but my interest in popslash is...waning. I really don't want to lose everything that made this fandom so wonderful for over two years, though, so I'm cutting back on my formerly obsessive popslash reading and trimming my friends list, and hopefully a bit of absence will cause the love to flood back. To anyone whom I've recently defriended and who wondered why: it's not you; it's me. You're all fascinating and insightful people (or I wouldn't have friended you in the first place). I'm just trying to regain some perspective.

But I know what you mean about that love being hard to sustain under constant exposure, and a break might be just what you need.

That's exactly what I was trying to articulate. Being surrounded by so much fannish enthusiasm and having a constant influx of fantastic new stories to read is wonderful, of course, but after a while it just got to be overwhelming.
