A family friend just called to let me know that my little sister's really sick--she's in the hospital with abdominal pains, and they don't know if it's appendicitis or a ruptured ovarian cyst or something else altogether. I'm going to be catching a train home in half an hour. I'm not entirely sure why I'm posting this, except that I'm really scared, and to say that I'm sorry I'll miss seeing breadandroses tomorrow, and I'll call you sometime soon.

Thank you. Things are still worrisome, because they haven't figured out what's wrong with her yet, but it's not appendicitis, and they let her come home today. It seems like it is some kind of infection, though, because her white blood cell counts were way up. The worst part is that she's still hurting and we can't do anything about it but give her Tylenol. She's going to be going in for some more tests in a couple of days, and hopefully they'll find out more then.
