In (Un) Perfect Harmony, How You Got Me Blind, and Does He Break? by Mala. Warnings: unfinished series. If WIPs drive you nuts, just read the first two stories, which have a very appropriate ending-place.

Stupid gangly kids infatuated. That's where it started. Big blue eyes meeting yours, startled, across a basketball court...furtive glances behind Lou's back ...stumbling around hotel hallways together after getting into a mini-bar supply of booze...and then discovering skin and heartbeats and the metallic taste of tongue as Chris and Howie sat outside the door like wise old sentries.

minniem gave me a heads up. Thanks for the rec', Jain! I'm sorry about the WIP-ness of the three stories (one of these days, I WILL figure out what happens to these poor angsty Letter Boys), but glad you liked them enough to suggest them to others. Yay!

Well, I'm very much looking forward to any subsequent stories; the last two lines of "Does He Break?" have me desperate to find out what happens next. In the meantime, though, I find myself rereading the series every couple of weeks anyway.

I love your portrayal of AJ and his addictions to alcohol and JC, and how painfully confused the two of them are. Howie and Chris are wonderful as well: Howie holding AJ back when the BSB confront him about JC, Chris holding JC's hand during the awards show when he wouldn't let anyone see him cry, and of course the two of them standing guard so that AJ and JC could have their first night together in that marvelous paragraph that I quoted in my rec.
