Slashy Dreams

Two nights ago I dreamt that Josh Lyman was gay. Some asshole (in Congress, I think), had found this out and was making his life hell, but all his friends were rallying around him.

Last night, I dreamt a Chris/Justin/Mandy threesome. At one point Chris told Mandy to "stop whining because [she] sound[ed] like Timberlake." So now I'm left with the question: why has no one ever written this threesome? Has anyone written this threesome? If not, it should be done. Possibly in an Avengers-esque AU, since of all of them these are my three most likely (to actually be smart).

It's a different Mandy than the one I'm thinking of, right? Please, please tell me it's a different Mandy... though, come to think of it, where do you draw the line between "real people you know" and "real people you see on TV/in concerts"? Does it have to do with personas? In which case, one could slash Alice Cooper? or anyone you know who's particularly dramatic? Can one ethically slash someone else's role-playing character? Does it make a difference, whether they're ever likely to actually read the slash? What's the boundary, do you think?

Yes, Mandy Moore. Ew to the other suggestion. And while she's appeared in what by most accounts is a crappy movie, she's a decent singer and really intelligent in her interviews. Also very, very pretty.

As to whom one can ethically slash: a lot of people, myself included, won't slash personal acquaintances, regardless of whether or not they would ever see the slash. Conversely, I don't worry about the possibility that the celebrities I slash might run across my posted stories--it's all about the plausible deniability, and while celebrities can easily disclaim any similarity with the characterizations of their personae in slash, one's friends can't really say that the person slashing them doesn't have any idea of who they truly are. Plus, it's just icky.

I keep thinking there's actually a...for lack of a better way of putting it, Brit/Mandy/Timbertrick story out there somewhere, but I don't know where. [apologetic]

Sounds interesting; I'll keep an eye out for it. Unless--not to imply that you're remembering incorrectly, but you don't sound completely certain yourself, so...might you be thinking of Mala's Dirty Pop? That's sort of JC/Justin/Brit/Mandy.

I've always thought Justin/Mandy would be a great pairing, but there really isn't a lot of Mandy fic out there in general.

The dearth of Mandy fic is really a shame; she's so smart and pretty and interesting...but, then, there's barely even any Britney fic out there (of the slash variety; I have no idea how much Britney het exists), and she's far more popular than Mandy is. Personally, I'd be more inclined towards Chris/Mandy or AJ/Mandy. Justin certainly wouldn't be bad paired with her, though. Nor would Nick, for that matter.

Just mentioning this now in case of confusion later. I've got a Mandy/Chris subplot in a fic I'm working on for the summer of crossover love challenge. It's squicky, but I [heart] it. And, hey, Mandy's a prodigy archeology grad student.
