Thank you so much for participating in this exchange and for offering one or more of my requested fandoms! A couple of important things I wanted to tell you:
* Optional details are optional. I've offered some possible hooks for a story in each of my requests because that's how I like to write for exchanges, but if your creativity is sparked in other ways, or if you just don't like any of my suggestions, then feel free to ignore them and write a different story for those characters.
* I'm chattier about some of my requests than others this year. Please don't think that this indicates a preference on my part for one fandom over another. I promise, I'd be equally thrilled to receive a story in any of these fandoms.
General likes and dislikes
I like happy (or at least hopeful) endings, friendship, family (including chosen family), loyalty, determination, cooking and/or eating, people being smart, people being competent, platonic bedsharing, non-platonic bedsharing, pining, unrequited love that turns out to be requited, hurt/comfort, kissing, masturbation, mutual masturbation, frottage, intercrural sex, intergluteal sex, oral sex, talking during sex (not dirty talk, just ordinary conversation), first-time fic, established relationship fic in which there's some sort of shift in the dynamics of the relationship, character- and relationship-driven gen, mild angst with an eventual happy ending, BDSM (with a male sub for m/f), watersports, worldbuilding, cultural differences, historical details, werewolves, case fic, backstory, missing scenes, future fic, third person POV, and past tense.
I don't like breathplay/asphyxiation, vore/cannibalism, scat, emetophilia/vomit, bloodplay, knifeplay, gunplay, suspension, lifestyle D/s, heavy angst, parent-child incest, character-bashing, unexamined misogyny and racism, dialogue-only fic, no dialogue, epithets (e.g. the blond, the taller man, the younger man), the phrases "to his [or her] credit," "had the grace to," and "took him[self] in hand," PWPs, crackfic, unsafe sex (except in historical or fantasy fandoms), zombies, soulmates, omegaverse, first person POV, second person POV, and AUs.
Archer's Goon -- Diana Wynne Jones
Hathaway, Torquil
Canon has already provided delicious brotherly angst and the seeds of a happy ending, but it glossed over most of the best parts. I'd love a story that really delves into their falling out: the original argument, their reconciliation, where their relationship goes in the future...pretty much anything exploring that theme. Gen preferred.
Elementary
Alfredo Llamosa, Joan Watson
Het, please. I like how smart and emotionally aware they both are, and their canonical developing friendship is absolutely charming. (Episode 1x18 was so good for me.) Case fic would be glorious, if your interests run that way, but I'd also love a first time romance or meeting-the-family fic or etc.
Frontier Wolf -- Rosemary Sutcliff
Alexios Flavius Aquila, Hilarion
I adore both these characters. Alexios is hands down my favorite Sutcliff protagonist, and Hilarion is awesomely funny and endearing. And I purely love how open their canonical relationship is to 'shippy future fic. I don't 'ship Alexios/Cunorix, though I think there's basis for reading one-sided romantic attraction from Alexios, which makes for a very reasonable source of angst in a later Alexios/Hilarion relationship.
If you don't want to go the jealousy route--or if you do, but want to trope it up a little--then werewolves are always completely awesome in this fandom. I'd love to see werewolf!Hilarion in particular, but there are plenty of other options, as well. (And I realize that this pairs an unusual trope with an unusual kink, but Frontier Wolf werewolves + watersports would make my year.)
Iskryne Series -- Elizabeth Bear & Sarah Monette
Isolfr, Skjaldwulf, Vethulf
Triad fic, please! I liked how The Tempering of Men developed Skjaldwulf's and Vethulf's side of the triangle, but I think that all three men have a long way to go before they're entirely settled in their relationship, and I'd love to see some of that process. Romance and porn are both great (though I'd prefer to not receive a PWP), as are explorations of the sociopolitical aspects of their relationships with each other and with the wolfheall.
The Left Hand of Darkness -- Ursula K. Le Guin
Arek Harth rem ir Estraven, Therem Harth rem ir Estraven
My primary interests in this fandom are, in order: 1) Therem, 2) winter on Gethen, 3) Therem's and Arek's relationship, and 4) Gethenian sociopolitical structures. If you don't want to write 'shipfic focusing on these two characters, then gen fic about Therem is more than welcome, especially if it explores the physical setting and/or Gethenian politics. I'd prefer a story set pre-LHoD.
Nova -- Samuel R. Delany
Katin Crawford, Pontichos "The Mouse" Provechi
Slash, please. This book is such fun, and Katin and the Mouse and their unlikely friendship were my favorite parts of it. I'd love to see what happens to them after the novel's end.
