Thank you for all of the suggestions on how to make the exchange more accessible! I hope the following changes will make things a little easier for everyone.

1) The timeline for the challenge has been pushed back as follows:
Sign-ups: May 12th - May 31st
Assignments sent out: June 3rd
Stories due: August 3rd
Stories posted: No later than August 10th.

2) If you've written three stories in a single Jdrama fandom, while two of your qualifying stories need to be at least 500 words each, your third qualifying story may be a ficlet 100-500 words long.

3) If you've written three full-length (i.e. 500+ word) stories in different Jdrama fandoms, you're also eligible to sign up. (Please note that this option entails a greater risk that I won't find a participant who could remix your stories, since I'll have to match someone who shares two or more fandoms with you.)

The sign-up post has been revised to reflect these changes. Any comments or questions about the changes or about the remix exchange in general are welcome here.

i'd love to give this a try, even if i don't have any confidence about it. it does sound like a lot of fun ♥

You should! Remix challenges are probably my favorite fandom events (other than Yuletide, which is kind of in a class by itself); they're super fun, and it's really interesting to see how people reinterpret/transform the original work.

sorry to be such a pain with the questions and such, but is it possible to put down fandoms we wouldn't mind writing in, that we don't have any fic of? say, i wouldn't mind writing gokusen 2 fic, or akihabara@deep fic, but i haven't actually written it before (well, finished at any rate)?

Absolutely. The sign-up form has separate sections for your qualifying fandoms (i.e. the fandoms you've already written in) and the fandoms you want to write in; the two lists don't have to be identical. In fact, the more fandoms you're willing to write, the easier it will be for me to match you with your remixee.

And please don't worry about asking too many questions! Remixes are awesome, but a bit more complicated than ordinary fic exchanges, and it's easy to get confused on some of the details.
