The reason that I'm mentioning this now, when I'm not planning to open sign-ups for the exchange until mid-May, is that there are people on my flist who I think (and hope, because you're awesome writers) would be interested in participating, and I want to make sure that anyone in that position has time to write enough stories to qualify if they don't have at least three stories in a Jdrama fandom written already.
Here are the basics:
* Sign-ups will open May 12th and close May 17th, and then assignments will go out by May 20th. Completed stories will be due on July 20th.
* Fandoms eligible for remixing include all Japanese dramas, though if you happen to write in a more obscure one, please try to convince some of your friends from that fandom to participate, as well. Otherwise I won't be able to match you with anyone else in the exchange.
* To qualify for participation, you have to have written at least three stories in a Japanese drama fandom. (If you've written in more than one Jdrama fandom, that's great, but you'll only list those fandoms for which you've written at least three stories in your sign-ups.) Each qualifying story must be at least 500 words long, cannot be a crossover, cannot be a PWP, and cannot be incomplete.
Just to clarify: this means you have to have written three stories per qualifying fandom. If you've written two Nobuta wo Produce stories and two Hana Yori Dango stories, that's not good enough. If you've written three Hana Yori Dango stories, on the other hand, you're golden.
* There will be no matching on genre or pairing: if you participate, you have to be prepared to remix slash, het, femslash, or gen without changing the pairings in the original story. (The one exception to this rule is if the person to whom you're assigned only writes incest pairings and you're not comfortable writing that. In the unlikely event that this occurs, you may remix the story as gen rather than as slash, femslash, or het.)
* The remix you write will have to be a minimum of 1000 words long. There is no maximum wordcount.
* See
I'm really hoping that some of you end up participating! Also, please pimp this out to any of your friends who might be interested.

Anyway, I'm glad you're doing this. It'll be exciting to see more jdrama fic, and I'm excited to try my hand at remixing now that I know a little better how it works.

I haven't written any Kurosagi yet myself, but I was already planning to offer it as one of the fandoms I'd be willing to remix (and I suspect other people will, as well), so that works just fine as your qualifying fandom. The "bring your friends" suggestion applies only to fandoms that other participants aren't able or willing to remix. I'd be more concerned if someone who writes, say, Galileo (or, worse, some obscure drama from the '80s) wanted to participate, but Kurosagi's popular enough that that's not an issue.
And since you're willing to remix a story in non-Kurosagi fandoms, it won't be any problem matching you that way, either. Though, you know, if you wanted to write more Nobuta fic by mid-May, I'm the last person to say no to that. :-)

And then you do THIS.
I AM SO WEAK.

And you're not weak, you're...optimistic. For which I'm very grateful and appreciative, because nothing makes a fanfiction exchange more successful than good writers as participants.

I'm actually planning to do the same myself; I'm hoping for more variety in the exchange, so I'm going to try to write a couple Akihabara@deep stories in the next month. Good luck if you do decide to give it a try!
