To anyone on my dwircle/flist who plays D&D: A friend of mine who's in grad school for library sciences is working on a project involving an online survey. Quoting from the email she sent me:
I'm (attempting) do to a study on user acceptance of changes to cloud computing, using the new online D&D character creator as a case study.
I know, it's awesome, you can study anything at grad school. Well, I'm (partially) kidding.
Anyway, what I'm trying to do is called "snowball sampling." Basically I'm sending you all the survey on the hope that you'll pass it along to other D&D playing friends I might not know--friends, relatives, your significant others. You don't have to tell me who you're sending it to--best to keep it anonymous, really.
Okay, brass tacks: Who should take the survey? Ideally, if you a) play D&D regularly (say at least once per month) and b) use/are aware of the online character creator, you should respond. If you play D&D occasionally but don't use/aren't aware of the online character creator, you are welcome to respond anyway to give me a better sense of who plays D&D. If you never play D&D (you play some other brand of RPG, don't role-play, and so on), don't respond.
Please respond only once. The survey contains 16 questions and should take less than ten minutes.
Thanks!
Here's the link to the survey. I can't take it myself because I don't play D&D, but I checked out the first page, and it does look fairly quick and easy. As my friend said in her email, feel free to pass the link on to anyone else who you think might be interested in responding.
The survey closes on December 5th.
