oh, I absolutely fell in love with this! so much terrific stuff (following are only a few of the many many lines I adored):

"Chekov beat you up?" Leonard asked skeptically. yeah, that's not at all convincing - I'd be skeptical too
If sticking by Jim for five years, with everything that that entailed--court martials, the constant threat of a messy and violent death, and actually starting to consider a flying deathtrap home--wasn't love, then he wasn't sure what qualified. this paragraph is so clear - it really *is* love!
Molly and the octopus are fantastic additions; Kirk needs someone to cuddle, and something soft & comforting is a brilliant addition to a sickroom. Bones is so smart!
