This is my first year participating in this exchange, so I'm very excited and can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm guessing you're either a Firefly or Star Trek XI writer, based on the sign-ups, but I've included a few details on all of my chosen fandoms, just in case.

Generally speaking, things that I don't like to read include breathplay/asphyxiation, character-bashing, death, abuse, betrayal, PWPs, non-con, coercion, and violence.

I personally tend to prefer more direction rather than less when I'm writing for a fic exchange, but if you like things more open-ended, that's fine. Just avoid my squicks and I'll be very happy. If you're like me, though, and want further suggestions, some of the story elements I particularly enjoy include:

Happy (or at least hopeful) endings; friendship; family (either biological or chosen); female competence at computers, electronics, cars and spaceships and other heavy machinery, or go; eating (but no foodsmut, please); sharing beds; kissing; first-time fic; established relationship fic (especially if there's some sort of shift in the dynamics of the relationship); and mild angst with an eventual happy ending.

Fandom-specific details: Firefly, Hikaru no Go, Nobuta wo Produce, Star Trek XI )

I hope this letter was helpful. Either way, please have a lot of fun writing your story. I'm really looking forward to seeing the end result.
Thank you so much for participating in the challenge! As you've no doubt read half a dozen times by now, you shouldn't feel absolutely compelled to write any details beyond the chosen fandom and characters. All of which is to say, if I requested something that you don't feel able to write, DON'T PANIC. Pretty much anything featuring the characters I requested would make me ecstatic, and I think it's more important for you to write a story that you're happy with and feel proud of than it is for you to write a story that exactly matches my request.

Generally speaking, things that I don't like to read include breathplay/asphyxiation, character-bashing, misogyny, death, abuse, betrayal, bad grammar and spelling, PWPs, non-con, coercion, and violence.

Things that I like include happy (or at least hopeful) endings, friendship, family (either biological or chosen), cooking and/or eating (but no foodsmut, please), physical affection (not just between the romantically involved characters), sharing beds, kissing, first-time fic, established relationship fic (especially if there's some sort of shift in the dynamics of the relationship), uncertain and/or awkward first relationship fumbling, character-driven gen, and mild angst with an eventual happy ending.

Fandom-specific details: Havemercy, Hana-Kimi, Nobuta wo Produce, Wang Qiu Wang Zi )

Again, thanks so much for offering to write a story in one of my favorite fandoms, and please have a lot of fun in the writing of it.
This year, there were more than the usual number of posts made to the Yuletide communities about how you shouldn't feel absolutely compelled to write any details beyond the chosen fandom and characters, so I kind of let myself go wild with my requests. All of which is to say, if I requested something that you don't feel able to write, DON'T PANIC. Pretty much anything featuring the characters I requested would make me ecstatic, and I think it's more important for you to write a story that you're happy with and feel proud of than it is for you to write a story that exactly matches my request.

Generally speaking, things that I don't like to read include breathplay, character-bashing, death, abuse, betrayal, bad grammar and/or spelling, PWPs, non-con, coercion, and violence.

Things that I like include happy (or at least hopeful) endings, friendship, hugs (not just between the romantically involved characters), kissing, first-time fic, established relationship fic (especially if there's some sort of shift in the dynamics of the relationship), character-driven gen, and mild angst with an eventual happy ending.

I've already said a bit about the fandoms I chose in my requests, but in case you wanted additional information or clarification:

I hope I haven't overwhelmed you either with my original requests or this letter. Thanks so much for offering to write a story in one of my favorite fandoms, and please have a lot of fun in the writing of it.

My requests are already fairly comprehensive, and if you find the one with which you were matched sufficient in and of itself, then feel free to write your story based just on that. If you wanted additional comments/clarifications, however, please continue reading. )

Finally, thank you in advance for the story you're writing. I love all three of the fandoms I requested, and they're all of them exceedingly rare, so pretty much anything you write will make me ecstatic.
